1. This a lake next to the museum in Nara. It was a Buddha museum so inside were huge, towering figures alongside smaller more intricate models. Impressive nonetheless – sadly photos weren’t allowed!

2. Nara’s a small place and so there are quite a few open fields and forests – the deer here are all wild (pretty tame, however) and are allowed to roam about! Though late in the evening I saw an angry Japanese man trying to shoo one off his property.

3. These next two are from the grounds of a temple in Kyoto. The gardens here are always well kept and obviously well designed.

4. One of many water features!

5. Action shot of a temple. I love the roofs, apparently they’re designed to be quite strong so during winter heavy snow doesn’t cause the roof to collapse.

6. This site was also in the grounds of the same temple. It’s nice to see that the old traditions are well kept even in such an urban city as Kyoto.
Well until next time, keep well people.
