I met up with an old friend today, I felt like the queen getting in to his car and being asked where to. As much as I love hanging out with females, I think i'll always be one of those girls who has more friends that are male.

Everything i've been waiting for in the post arrived today. You should have seen my face (including a giant crayola box (!!) from Laura).

Deets

An outfit detail post from my NFFL (new found, favourite location). It's surprising how close to my house it actually is, I like to think of myself as an explorer yet I never thought to look here, I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot more of it. The dress is from Anthropologie, the shoes are Primarni (saw them in Look magazine and had to hunt them down) and jewels Hivenj .

Yesterday all of my arranging came together. I felt like one of my closest friends needed a pick me up and showing that we're all here for her so I gathered her favourite people. She thought we were just going for a quiet drink but slowly more people arrived, the look on her face as each walked through the door was worth all of the organising. I also got to meet people that i've heard so many lovely things about!

On Friday I met Rebecca at Hot House. The night included lots of talk, garlic vodka shots, cherry drop vodka shots, something green vodka shot and accountants. All in all, I had a wonderful time.

I'm going to ignore what Thursday means.

It's been crazy hot today. More like California hot, that dry heat instead of cliche UK muggy hot. I spent my Boots points, I managed to rack up £70 in a relatively small amount of time (probably all the film I now develop there, much better quality than Jessops). I ended up buying- Benefit Highbeam (I fell in love after using a mini), L'oreal Infallible foundation & colour riche serum lipstick in sparkling rose, Sanctuary warming micro brasion polish & Organix coconut milk serum.

So much university stuff has been happening around me (I feel dizzy). Lots of people going, a few not and one of my closest friends is differing a year. Long story short...
Before the fees, this would have happened the simple way. With the fees, she applied and was slowly being pressured in to going by her parents. She thought through what she wanted and it wasn't university this year so kept going over it with her parents and they slowly came round. She's made a plan and we'll see what happens next.

The moral of the story is that you don't have to go to university. Buzz lightyear didn't go to university. There are so many other options, don't let anyone pressure you (into anything in life really).

Outfit Post

This is my new (on sale) H&M dress. It's a bit on the short side but I can ignore that because it's so easy to wear. I made these cuffs yesterday and had to wear them out (available at Hivenj). I love the big superhero (remember wonderwoman?) cuffs trend and this is my take on it. The bag's borrowed from my mum and the shoes are from Zalando.

V fest's going on this weekend and I live near enough that there's a constant boomboomboom. I went a lot as a kid (I was dragged to see The Killers instead of my choice, Pink) and it seems to have just gone down hill since. Most people go for "the experience" (AKA to get drunk) and not for the bands. Why pay £££ when you can do the same for a lot less in the park/at home.

My gran's coming to stay this week, she's so lovely to be around.

Me Time

I've spotted lots of elderberries close to where I live and i'm planning to make elderberry schnapps. I was given homemade strawberry jam recently in the cutest jar and in the middle of my 'I'd love to do something similar' thought I saw Hannah's guest post on Thelittledeer about apple butter. Anyway, I'm one step closer to grandparents christmas presents, I'll let you know how it goes.

I had a run in with elderberries on my friend's trampoline the other day. Just a tip- don't jump on berries unless you're making wine.

Me Time

Meet my new favourite bar, Hot House (map). They have a crazy variety of self flavoured vodka (including blackjack, opal-fruits, rhubarb and custard, worthers original, chilli and garlic) plus an infamous range of cocktails (including one that literally matches my hair). Above all, the atmosphere's amazing. As Arnie said, I'll be back.

It's been sunny in the UK this week and i've been trying to make the most of it. I've been eating outside as much as possible and making every other excuse I can think of to be outside. I've been testing out my new camera too (a canon ae-1), the manual focus is going to be something to get used to but I love the outcome so far.

I regret not taking a closer photo of the shoes and bag. The shoes are my favourite pair of flats (covered in blue sequins) since I was twelve. A bit small for me now but I will never get rid of them. I was at a friends recently and their younger sister (who's eight) got all excited , ran away and came back with the same shoes! I'm weirdly proud that I match an eight year old. The bag was a makeup/toiletries bag until I added hooks and threaded my brother's tie through said hooks ,now it's a cross body bag. You never know when a tie will come in handy.
