Me Time

An early christmas present from my dad, this is Tilly, she's a Lomography LC-wide. Here are a couple of photos from my first and second roll! The first are from a lighting shop near me, if I had more money I would kit my room out in the majority of the shop. The second B&W logs, Rhiann & I (outside hothouse) and two of one of the cutest kitten's i've ever seen.

I feel awful today. Possible mix of glandular fever and tonsillitis so i'm feeling very sorry for myself and buying pretty things.

My Week In Multiple Exposures

Today's been hot. I still love the idea that the UK are having an Indian summer, suits me (meaning it's not too hot at night so I can sleep).

I received my Cosmo email! It confirmed i've been short listed for the award (!!) ,the voting's been extended until the 17th of October and that there will be an awards presentation towards the end of October. My smile has never been wider.

Outfit

So, this dress started out as a topshop dress. I then found (and bought) it in a charity shop (£4!) and decided to get the bleach out. A fun bleach painting session later, numerous spins of the washing machine and this is how it turned out. I need to go sock shopping, these are from h&m and the backpack's vintage. The boots are Joe Browns and all jewellery, made by me, available at Hivenj (for 30% off type HIVENN1 at checkout).

Arthur's Adventures IV

IV – Hello again. These are all from my last two days travelling west (therefore are the most westerly photos) and definitely include the nicest weather!

1. The view from near the peak of Mt Misen. This is a sacred mountain on Miyajima (an island off Hiroshima – you can see mainland Japan in the distance) which I climbed. My uncle told me that back in the day, it was forbidden by the gods to climb this mountain.

2. Taken on my progress up the mountain!

3. Miyajima, from the seashore. It’s such a scenic spot, and in a way I didn’t feel like I was in Japan. Still there's Japanese architecture, if you notice the stone lamps on the left.

4. A view out to sea. The boats on the right are the ones that ferry you from the Hiroshima area to Miyajima.

5. Leaving the port. The ride didn’t take long at all.

6. A view around the Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima. Every year people gather here to remember what happened on August 6th 1945. I love the museums here.

7. As you can see from the next two, it’s really hard to imagine that this city was so devastated. Walking along the river, I think it was possibly one of my favourite places in Japan (if you look across the river, you can see two peeps with guitars).

8. More views of the river. Hiroshima is a huge city, but in a way, places like here give me the vibe of a town.

Outfit

dress- H&M
wedges- Sam Edelman @Shopbop
all jewellery- Hivenj (for 30% off type HIVENN1 at checkout)

This is my favourite alleyway, everyone has to have one, right? I think this dress is perfect to wear to a festival (it's easy to wear and move around in). I'm not sure whether it's because i'm rather tall that this dress is rather short but it is. If there was a swift gust of wind, well, I would have my own Marilyn moment (but far less glorious).

How is this month nearly over? I've started my christmas shopping (etsy's definitely my saviour). My bestest best friend 's birthday is five days after christmas so i'm having to double shop for her.

I still can't believe that i've made it to the next round of Cosmo's blog awards (almost as much as the end of Fight Club). Thank you to anyone who's ever supported my blog. Pretty please (with a cherry on top) vote for me here (under established fashion blog click High Venn).

I hope it's sunny where you are, apparently next week is heatwave week in the UK. I do love our imitation of an Indian summer.

Spring 2012, LFW

If you don't like colour, prints and more prints, look away now.

Mary Katrantzou |
This show was all about colour, pattern and movement. I watched live and wished to be there, there's only a certain amount of magic that can come through a screen. You can see Mary Katrantzou's influence all over the catwalk, where once the focus was on shape, it's now on pattern.

Holly Fulton |
The designer beautifully blends jewels and clothing. Well I wouldn't say no.

Erdem |
Apart from the headgear, Erdem are perfection as always.

Others of note-

All images from style.com

Meadham Kirchhoff's show was my favourite by far but in reality, I wouldn't wear any of it.
