I think i'm one of the few people who are able to celebrate halloween on halloween. I've been carving my pumpkin today (tried roasted pumpkin, not a fan) and I'm planning to go as a bat (bunny + cat) tomorrow. Halloween also means it's nearly November. How is that possible? And it's dark, stupid stupid clock change (at least my laptop remembered).
Also happy birthday to my bubba twin brothers, sixteen today. As if.

The Cosmo Blog Awards In B&W Fisheye

1&2 Decoration 3 Cupcakes 4&6 Style 5 Horse head & booze 7 Goodie bags!

So, I didn't win BUT I was flabbergasted to even be nominated and I had a lovely time. The night goes as follows...

-I arrived early (and on my own) and had to wait outside (with no coat). Beth was sweet enough to come over and say hey so I joined her little group.
-As more people were arriving, you could see a pattern forming. School cliques.
-Strolled in, had no coat to drop off so grabbed a drink and checked out the different cute little booths (met a sweet PR girl from Stylist Pick)
-Mingled a bit more
-The awards were announced swiftly, no speeches, nothing about the blog, no highly commended blog people on the stage, etc, which was disappointing. This happened at around seven (the event finished at nine) and after the music was cranked up, most people decided to drink as there wasn't anything else on offer
-Apart from that (and the school group thing), it was a brilliant night. Meeting new, amazing people is always fun. Oh and of course the goodie bags, who could forget the goodie bags.

Thanks to you, Cosmo in general, Alice, Nic & Chloe for making the night what it was. Have a fantastic weekend.

My Week In Multiple Exposures

One sleep until the Cosmo awards. I think this beats Christmas. I haven't properly packed/organised everything so that's going to happen in a rush tomorrow morning.

Yesterday I had a photoshoot with the one and only Louise. I dislike halloween a lot. BUT I love the beautiful Mexican tradition that is Day of the Dead. I was inspired by Emily's post about the day (1,2) and went slightly crazy on google. Louise made me (& her) up and we took to the graveyard. More on that soon.

I Like To Move It Move It

My winter saviour's. I've never been much of a coat person, last winter I trundled around in a thin army jacket (I was weirdly always complaining I was cold) but not this year. This year, I'm going to be decked out in one real coat at a time.

Part Face

My face behind a teddy in Toys 'R' Us (I have the same coat but in human size) & behind a poppadom.

I'm pretty sure I enjoyed running around in Toys 'R' Us a bit too much. I wasn't one of the kids who had all the toys (no doll who pees when you squeeze her for me), I used to go round to friends and stare in amazement and jealousy at their collection. But then again, when I have kids i'm not so sure I want them to have a huge range of toys. More like hand whittled rocking chairs and anything cat themed. Oh and a big garden so they can have a swing and make a tree house.

I'm going out tonight with an old friend for cocktails! I haven't seen her in a while so it'll be lovely to catch up.

Me Time

Model & makeup - Louise Hall

The day before yesterday's shoot went well. The woodland fairy shoot added up- Hannah has a natural look and we were in the middle of woodland. These were taken after, there's this amazing green half burnt abandoned building local to me. It's literally all been blocked up so Louise settled for jumping scaffolding. In heels. Do not do this at home, I was standing on the sidelines looking terrified. Hannah & I were casually eating onion ring crisps in the car park non-jumping bit. I hopefully have another shoot with Louise monday, I feel like making a weekly photo-date-kinda-thing with her.

I'm going out to dinner tonight with one of my closest friends. She's off on holiday for five days so i'm buying the poppadoms. Is it just me that's obsessed with poppadoms? (well poppadoms and popcorn?)

Outfit

This dress is from the Co-op! I've never thought to look there for clothes but after this beauty on sale, I will be back. You can't really see the rest of the outfit but the shoes are the sandals featured in this post and a brass neck cuff from Etsy.

I went on a fadada (father-daughter-date) today for coffee (well ,chai) and it was lovely to catch up. I've been making headwreaths this week for a local charity fashion show and I finished them off over the weekend so I can use them in a shoot tomorrow! I'm hoping for a woodland fairy kind of look.

I'm not 100% sure but I think voting for the cosmo blog awards ends tomorrow (Monday) at 9am. So like, vote for me bro (click established fashion blog & then High Venn). I'll knuckle bump you if that's what it takes.

New Shoes

1) Stylistpick 2) Shopbop 3) Vintage Chanel

If only I had six feet. The boots to wear without tights for as long as possible. The heels to wear with tights and pretend that they are the highest of high heels that I can actually walk in. And the Chanel (bar-gain), to wear anywhere and everywhere. Talking of shoes, I need these in my life.

The voting for the cosmo awards are closing soon so pleaaasse vote for me! (click established fashion blog & then High Venn) I can't wait for the event but I have no idea what to wear. I doubt "awards fabulous" equals dungarees but I think I have a plan.
